PISCO_HyM_GR2M: A Model of Monthly Water Balance in Peru (1981–2020)

چکیده
Quantification of the surface water offer is crucial for its management. In Peru, low spatial density hydrometric stations makes this task challenging. This work aims to evaluate hydrological performance a monthly balance model in Peru using precipitation and evapotranspiration data from high-resolution meteorological PISCO dataset, which has been developed by National Service Meteorology Hydrology (SENAMHI). A regionalization approach based on Fourier Amplitude Sensitivity Testing (FAST) rainfall-runoff (RR) runoff variability (RV) indices defined 14 calibration regions nationwide. Next, GR2M was used at semi-distributed scale 3594 sub-basins river streams simulate discharges January 1981 March 2020. Model evaluated Kling–Gupta efficiency (KGE), square root transferred Nash–Sutcliffe (NSEsqrt), error (WBE) metrics. The results show very well representation large portion Peruvian (KGE ≥ 0.75, NSEsqrt 0.65, −0.29 < WBE 0.23). Finally, study introduces product continuous discharge rates named PISCO_HyM_GR2M, understand data-scarce sub-basins.

Assessment of the Monthly Water Balance in an Arid Region Using TM Model and GIS (Case Study: Pishkouh Watershed, Iran)
Monthly discharge is one of the most important factors considered in designs and hydrological works. Some watersheds are not equipped with needed hydrometric equipment. In such a case average monthly discharge could be estimated from regional monthly water balance models of representative watersheds. In this study, Thornthwaite & Mather (TM) model were used in the Pishkouh watershed in arid cli...
متن کاملAn estimation of Thornthwaite monthly water-balance in Mighan sub-basin
Water resources in arid and semi-arid regions are heavily influenced by climate change, water shortage, water regulations, and increased water demands. Monthly discharge is one of the most important factors in hydrological studies. Some of the basins are not equipped with adequate hydrometric equipment. In such a case, average monthly discharge could be estimated by regional monthly water balan...
متن کاملMonthly water balance models for 55 basins in 10 countries
Two types of monthly water balance models at basin scale are used: PE models use precipitation and potential évapotranspiration (PET) as their observed input data, whereas P models need only precipitation. Calibration proceeds by comparing model runoff and observed runoff. Calibration is entirely automatic with the exclusion of subjective elements. All models differ only by their actual évapotr...
